Officials Congratulate Wisdom Schools for its triumph in Dubai Spelling Bee Championship

Two ministers in Rwanda congratulate Wisdom Schools Rwanda for its triumphs in Dubai Spelling Bee Championship.

Three Rwandan students from the Musanze District-based Wisdom Schools have emerged overall winners of the 2021 intercontinental spelling, reading and writing championship that took place in Dubai, United Arab Emirates (UAE) on Friday, December 17, 2021.

The competition was organized by Mind Guider Management Consultancy (MGMC) and took place at Omega hotel in Deire City where countries such as the Al Sharjah, Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Pakistani, and Rwanda qualified for the finals.

The competition aimed at imparting students in all aspects of the English language, to master it at its core and have a positive impact on their life now and in the future, according to organizers.

Wisdom Schools was the sole school that represented Rwanda in the Intercontinental championship, the former had sent a total of 21 students of whom three emerged as the overall winners of the completion beating dozens of other contestants.

Ariella Ishami was the overall winner in the reading, writing and spelling competition, she bagged home a trophy and a certificate. The second winner was Marie Paul Gisubizo while Fiston Mugisha emerge in the third – they were also awarded trophies and certificates Respectively.

All the participants received gold medals and certificates. Wisdom Schools was particularly invited to participate in other spelling bee competitions that are scheduled to take place in Germany and Canada in July and August next year.

Elie Nduwayesu, the owner of Wisdom Schools said he was extolled that the school made Rwanda proud for its very first time to take part in the competition, he insisted that the competition made children smart, competitive, confident, and improve their cognitive skills and ability to speak publicly.

“The competition was indeed smackdown at first because it was their (children) first time to participate in kinds of competitions. We won in the third and fourth rounds after the break, children were told that they represented Rwanda not themselves or the school. They did their best.” He noted.

The Rwandan Mission in UAE was ably represented to the competition by Minister Counsellor Edouard who had availed his altruistic support by boosting the contestants’ morale in their boot camp ahead of the competition which led to their success, the minister also handed trophies and certificates to the winners.

Several senior government officials took to Twitter to commend Wisdom Schools for having mesmerized and represented firmly Rwanda in the international arena. “Congratulations Wisdom School. You made us proud, keep shining” Education Minister, Dr Valentine Uwamaliya twitted.

Local Government Minister, Jean Marie Vianney Gatabazi echoed Uwamaliya’s sentiment saying, “Congratulations Wisdom Schools you did a very good job there (in Dubai). Many thanks to Mrs Elia, the founder and chairman.”

Wisdom was unveiled back in 2008 with a mission to provide a sustainable holistic education geared to academic excellence and produce a balanced and God-fearing individual able to meet the challenges of modern society, the school so far has four branches; Musanze (main headquarters), Rubavu, Nyabihu and Cyanika.
