Nyarugenge District Recognized for Excellence in Civil Registration and Vital Statistics Delivery

Nyarugenge District, located in the bustling city of Kigali, has earned the distinguished title of the second-best district in Rwanda for its outstanding performance in providing sustainable civic services.

Known for its efficient delivery of civil registration and vital statistics (CRVS), this recognition highlights the district’s unwavering commitment to quality service, which has significantly enhanced the lives of its residents.

The impressive achievement was celebrated by Mr. Ingangare Alexis, the Executive Administrator of Nyarugenge District. He attributed the success to the community’s strong understanding of sustainability and their active participation in various environmental initiatives.

“Our success is a result of the collective effort of our residents who are dedicated to preserving in Civil Registration and Vital Statistics Delivery ,” said Mr. Alexis.

“We encourage everyone to continue supporting these initiatives to maintain and even exceed our current standards.”

Nyarugenge District’s approach is a shining example of how community involvement and a focus on sustainability can drive success. By fostering a culture of active participation and environmental stewardship, the district has set a high standard for civil service excellence.

During recognition ceremonies

According to the latest statistics from the Ministry of Local Government, Nyarugenge District achieved an impressive score of 98.8%, securing its position as the second-best district in the country. Gakenke District topped the list for the last financial year with a near-perfect score of 99%, showcasing the highest quality of service delivery. Other notable mentions include Muhanga, Huye, and Nyabihu districts, which were ranked third, fourth, and fifth with scores of 94.8%, 94.6%, and 94.4%, respectively.

However, the report also highlighted areas that need improvement. Kayonza District was positioned at 29th place with a score of 73.4%, while Burera District ranked last with a score of 68.6%.

These results underscore the disparities in service delivery across the country and emphasize the need for targeted efforts to uplift underperforming districts.
